UnitedHealth Group's Optum NY in West Nyack, NY is seeking an Associate Medical Assistant to join our care delivery team. You will support physicians and clinicians, perform direct patient care in designated areas, and help with procedures in a fast-paced clinic.

The role offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates, benefits within 30 days, and opportunities for growth. Schedule is 5 eight-hour shifts; compensation ranges from $16 to $25 per hour, based on experience.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years of related experience in this field.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with 1+ years of recent experience as a medical assistant (preferred).
• Current CPR / BLS certification (preferred).

Aufgaben

• Demonstrates clinical competence in direct patient care and assists MDs with procedures.
• Performs clinical duties within department standards and policies.
• Addresses patient needs and communicates identified needs promptly.
• Directs and escorts patients to exam rooms in a timely manner.
• Assists physicians or nurse practitioners during exams and diagnostic procedures.
• Performs authorized procedures (vital signs, vision screening, selected labs) as directed.
• Prepares e-prescriptions for processing to pharmacies as instructed by physician.
• Inspects, cleans/prepares and processes instruments/equipment per manufacturers' guidelines.
• Prepares specimens for transport to laboratory with proper labeling and orders in EPIC.
