Optum NY in Jefferson Valley, NY seeks a Medical Assistant (ENT) to support patient care, coordinate with the care team, and assist clinicians with procedures. This role includes a $3,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates plus comprehensive benefits.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year MA experience or a recognized MA certification, and CPR/BLS certification. Schedule is Mon/Wed/Fri 8am-4pm, Tue/Thu 8am-5pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office, clinic or hospital setting OR Nationally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification from one of the following agencies: NAHP, NCCT, AAMA, AMT, NHA.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• Current CPR / BLS certification.

Responsabilités

• Demonstrates clinical competence in direct patient care and assists MDs with procedures.
• Performs clinical duties within department standards, policies and protocols.
• Addresses patient needs and communicates them timely.
• Directs patients to exam rooms promptly.
• Assists physician/nurse during exams and diagnostic procedures.
• Performs vital signs, vision screening, and basic lab tasks as directed.
• Prepares e-prescriptions for processing to pharmacies.
• Inspects and cleans instruments and equipment per guidelines.
• Processes specimens for lab transport and proper labeling.
