Job summary

WellMed, part of the Optum family, seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care under supervision. Duties include equipment operation, specimen collection, room preparation, and accurate documentation to ensure smooth patient care flow.

You will work in a team-focused environment with emphasis on safety, privacy, and compassionate service. Certification within 180 days is expected where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; certification within 180 days preferred.
• National Medical Assistant certification required; BLS for healthcare providers at hire or within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical duties under supervision of a provider or physician.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and collect specimens as directed.
• Prepare examination rooms and maintain infection control standards.
• Document patient care accurately in the medical record.
• Support patient flow and communication within the clinical team.
• Adhere to policies, privacy rules, and safety procedures.
