Job summary

271 Atrium Health Specialty Network, Inc is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support General Surgery at Lake Norman. Expect 40 hours weekly, Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with benefits eligibility.

Provides rooming, vitals, history taking, medication reconciliation, and screening tasks while assisting physicians with procedures and immunizations. Role requires completing an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent training, BLS certification, and strong communication with patients

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent clinical training.
• Optional DD214/military clinical training or EMT may be accepted.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Medical Assistant scope of practice and facility policies.
• Perform rooming and vitals, medication reconciliation, medical history, screenings.
• Assist providers with procedures and perform lab duties including venipuncture and specimen handling.
• Conduct POCT and CLIA‑waived tests; manage medications and vaccinations per orders.
• Maintain clean, stocked work areas and effective patient communication.
