Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care under the direction of a provider. You will prepare exam rooms, take vital signs, document patient history, and assist with procedures.

This on-site role may require travel between AHN locations and includes a $1,000 sign-on bonus for external hires. Required qualifications include completion of a Medical Assistant program or HS diploma, CPR certification, and state-cleared background checks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or MA program completion.
• CPR certification from American Heart Association.
• Act 34, Act 33 and Act 73 background clearances.
• Certification training within 30 days and certification within 120 days if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision with the health care team.
• Prepare and room patients; obtain vitals, history, tobacco and medication screening.
• Perform back office testing following AHN policies.
• Assist providers with exams and procedures; may serve as a scribe.
• Provide follow up with patients per provider instructions and notify results.
• Prepare exam rooms, stock supplies, and maintain inventory.
• Sterilize instruments and perform lab controls as assigned.
• Document in the EHR and perform clerical duties; may travel between AHN locations.
