Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care in Scott Township, PA, is hiring a Medical Assistant to support urgent care operations. You will handle patient registration, vitals, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing under the supervision of providers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year MA experience in hospital, primary care, ED, or urgent care preferred.
• MA certifications (CCMA, CMA, CMA-CHP, CMA-AAMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA, ARMA) accepted or must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• LPN/LVN or nursing background accepted.
• BLS/CPR required at hire or within timeframe.
• CPOE certification if MA cert not obtained.
• Ability to type quickly and use basic computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and schedule appointments.
• Assist providers during exams and prepare treatment rooms.
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
• Perform point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG).
• Stock supplies and maintain exam rooms and reception areas.
• Maintain medical records and assist with chart scanning.
• Communicate effectively with patients and care teams.
