Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care in Greensburg, Latrobe, Jeanette, and North Huntingdon is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our urgent care centers. You will register patients, verify insurance, schedule appointments, and assist providers with procedures in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma and/or Medical Assisting program, BLS, and MA certification or equivalent experience. Sign-on bonus up to $2,000 and monthly incentive pay are offered; CPOE training will be provided

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Medical Assisting program preferred
• 1+ years MA experience preferred; 1+ years phlebotomy experience
• BLS certification required at time of hire
• MA certifications accepted: CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA
• CPOE certification required within two weeks of start date
• Graduate of nursing program (LPN/RN), EMT, Paramedic, or CNA backgrounds encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance and documentation
• Schedule appointments and process co-pays
• Prepare patients for examination and record medical history
• Perform vital signs and preliminary patient assessments
• Conduct point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG)
• Assist providers with patient care and procedures
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical records
• Answer patient questions and coordinate referrals
• Perform opening/closing duties and maintain equipment quality checks
• Support a safe, organized, and patient-centered clinical environment
• All other duties as assigned
