AltaMed Health Services in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Medical Assistant, Scheduling Coordinator II. This role schedules and coordinates on-site and off-site specialist appointments, ensuring timely referrals and clear communication with the PCP and IDT team.

You will work with the care team to coordinate services for fragile patients, mentor Scheduling Coordinator I, and support others in the clinic. A Medical Assistant certificate and 3+ years in a medical setting are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least 3 years in medical/clinical setting.
• MA certificate required; experience with referrals/authorizations and EHR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate on-site and off-site specialist appointments.
• Communicate future and past appointments to PCP and IDT team.
• Coordinate care with IDT to advocate for specialty needs.

Job Overview

This position is responsible for scheduling and coordinating on-site and off-site specialist appointments for urgent/senior expedited, routine, and follow-up appointments following the approved authorizations, scheduling, and wait time objectives. Responsible for providing clear communication regarding future and past appointments to the PCP and IDT team. This position works closely with members of the IDT team to coordinate services and advocate for participants' specialty needs. Responsible for working in collaboration with Center staff/leaders for the coordination of care for the more fragile patient population. Responsible for providing guidance and training to the Scheduling Coordinator Level I.

Minimum Requirements

• High School graduate or GED equivalent required.
• A minimum of three years' experience working in the medical or clinical field required; Experience working with referrals/authorizations and with an Electronic
• Health System preferred.
• Served in a lead role and experience leading others preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certificate required.

Compensation

$26.75 - $33.44 hourly
