Job summary

MD Now Urgent Care in Brandon, FL is seeking a Clinical Medical Assistant to join our team as a PRN role. You will prepare patients for exams, take histories and vital signs, assist with injections, lab testing, and phlebotomy, and support providers during visits.

Experience with an EHR system is helpful, and the ability to travel/float between MD Now locations within the assigned area is preferred. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth within a large healthcare

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting preferred.
• Experience using an EHR system is very helpful
• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assisting or completion of an approved program (BOTP) required
• Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is helpful
• Ability to obtain Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certificate and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 30 days of start preferred
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies including sterilization
• Give injections, and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy needs
• Assist physicians in applying splints, dressings, and bandages
• Assist with transfers and scheduling of follow-up care
• Coordinate patient physicals and workplace injuries for partner accounts
• Screen incoming calls for referral to physicians and practitioners
• Willing to travel/float between all MD Now locations within assigned Area preferred
