Job summary

Carolinas Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant for the AMG Franklin - Family Medicine department. The position is full-time (40 hours per week) with a Monday–Friday schedule and no weekends or holidays, ensuring stable work-life balance while providing essential patient care.

You will perform rooming tasks, vital signs, medical history, screenings, venipuncture, and assist physicians with procedures, while upholding clinical standards and patient safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or required within stated timelines.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs venipuncture, specimen handling, and POCT as per orders.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely.
• Maintains clean, stocked work area and equipment.
• Communicates effectively with patients and team; escalates as needed.
