Job description

Primary Care Medical Assistant

40 hours per week, Days

Location: Des Peres

Overview:

• Prepares patients for visits with providers by completing advanced standard room processes, including:
• Entering the chief complaint
• Taking patient vital signs, reviewing patient history and allergies
• Completing thorough medication reconciliation
• Using the Encounter Guide to help close care gaps such as fall risk, depression screening, cancer screenings, and diabetic eye exams
• Rechecking elevated blood pressures
• Documenting in Epic for preventative visits as needed

• Assists with in-office testing such as drawing blood, mental status exams, EKGs, oxygen studies, and point of care testing
• Administers vaccines and injections within scope of practice
• Schedules follow-up appointments according to office policy
• Collaborates with providers and the care team to monitor and coordinate the care plan

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire
• Preferred: 6 months clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care setting
• Active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA)

LPN Qualifications:

• Diploma in Practical Nursing
• Active LPN licensure
• Preferred: 6 months clinical healthcare experience in a primary care setting
