Job summary

Providence Swedish Medical Center in Seattle seeks a Medical Assistant II to assist licensed practitioners, perform delegated tasks, and support patient care in the assigned clinic.

Ideal candidates will have MA training, WA MA certification, BLS within 30 days, and 6 months of healthcare/MA experience; the role emphasizes adherence to policies and patient safety.

  • Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program.
  • Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces.
  • Minimum one year of MA work experience including vital signs, injections and medication administration.
  • Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification.
  • Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
  • 6 months of healthcare experience.
  • 6 months of medical assistant experience.

Job description

Position Overview

The MA II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications
  • Coursework/Training: Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands‑on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants, or
  • Coursework/Training: Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program, or
  • Coursework/Training: Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces, or
  • Coursework/Training: Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration
  • Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification
  • Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • 6 months of healthcare experience
  • 6 months of medical assistant experience

  • Upon hire: National Medical Assistant Certification
