Job summary

Providence Swedish is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support patient care under a licensed practitioner at our Seattle location. This role expands MA I duties and requires full clinical competency in the clinic’s needs and adherence to policies and regulations.

Responsibilities include assisting with patient examinations, obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and supporting medication administration, with required certifications and BLS within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with hands-on clinical training.
• Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program.
• Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces.
• Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant, including obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
• Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification.
• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS (American Heart Association).
• 6 months of healthcare experience.
• 6 months of medical assistant experience.

Job description

The MA II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. This role expands upon the MA I responsibilities, requiring full competency in the clinical needs/functions for the assigned clinic/location. The MA II must perform duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program that includes hands‑on clinical training
• Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program
• Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces
• Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant, including obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration
• Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification
• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS (American Heart Association)
• 6 months of healthcare experience
• 6 months of medical assistant experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Upon hire: National Medical Assistant Certification

Pay Range: $26.47 - $40.49 per hour (base pay). Additional compensation may be available for shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, and bonus opportunities.
