Baptist Health seeks a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care in an outpatient clinic. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, reconciling medications, collecting histories, and coordinating tests and procedures.

The role requires on-site presence and includes a retention bonus for eligible new hires. Ideal candidates have MA training or certification, hands-on patient care experience, and basic computer/EMR skills.

• 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience in a medical office or clinic.
• Direct patient care includes vitals, history and medications.
• Completion of an accredited MA training program with hands-on experience.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• BAT and DOT certifications within 90 days in Occupational Medicine.

Responsabilidades

• Obtain vital signs and document patient history accurately.
• Reconcile medications and coordinate tests and procedures.
• Manage EPIC EMR, schedule appointments, and process prior authorizations.
• Assist with EKGs, labs, injections or phlebotomy when competency is reached.
• Support providers with strong communication and organization on-site.

Summary Job Description: BHMG Primary Care ** Retention Bonus!** Job Summary: The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care and clinical support within an outpatient clinic. Responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, reconciling medications, collecting patient history, and facilitating patient flow. Additional duties involve managing the electronic health record (EPIC), scheduling appointments, processing medication requests, handling prior authorizations, and coordinating tests and procedures. Upon successful completion of clinical competency, the role may also require performing EKGs, lab tests, injections, and/or phlebotomy. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential to ensure efficient patient care and support for providers. This role requires regular on-site presence to perform the essential job functions. Qualifications: High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency 1+ year(s) of experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office, clinic or similar setting required. Experience must include direct, hands-on patient care in a clinical setting, such as obtaining vital signs, documenting patient history and medications, and performing clinical procedures (e.g. EKG’s, phlebotomy, administering injections or vaccines). Or Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program, that includes hands on patient experience as part of the curriculum, required. Upon hire, all Medical Assistants will undergo a clinical competency assessment and must successfully complete MA orientation. Those who do not meet the required standards will be enrolled in the Medical Assistant Trainee Program for further development and evaluation. Basic computer skills, experience with EMR System a plus. Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire. BAT and DOT certifications required for Medical Assistants in Occupational Medicine within 90 days of hire. Preferred Qualifications for a Certified Medical Assistant: Current Medical Assistant Certification from AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, or AAMP. Or graduate of an accredited LPN or RN program with current unrestricted licensure.
