Schedule: Full Time

Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 8:00pm, Saturday & Sunday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Location: Clermont, FL

The Role You’ll Contribute:

Under the supervision of Providers and reporting to the Practice Manager, the Medical Assistant cares for patients and performs various patient care activities. Adheres to guidelines to ensure quality care and safety, supports patient flow, and participates in outstanding customer service, maintaining respectful relationships with all.

• Properly documents and reports procedures and assessments according to department policy.
• Assesses patients during clinical check-in, documents medical info, vital signs, and checks for signs of abuse or neglect.
• Performs and administers treatments, medications, and follow-up assessments as ordered, responding to emergencies and triage situations appropriately.

Qualifications:

The expertise and experiences needed:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of related work experience OR graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship OR 6 months relevant experience within an AdventHealth facility
• Current certification from one of the following:
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) for Certified Medical Assistants
  • American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) for Clinical Medical Assistant Certification
  • American Medical Technologists (AMT) for Registered Medical Assistant
  • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) for Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) for National Certified Medical Assistant
  • National Healthcareer Association (NHA) for Registered Clinical Medical Assistant
  • State of Florida Paramedic License
• Current, valid CPR certification required
