Job summary

Quincy Medical Group in Pittsfield, IL is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support providers and patients throughout the clinic day. You will handle rooming, vital signs, prep for exams, and assist with treatments and injections to maintain an efficient, patient-friendly flow.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Medical Assistant education or experience preferred.
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Experience in primary care/ambulatory settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history and other clinical information.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers with treatments and procedures.
  • Administer medications and injections as directed.
  • Coordinate referrals, labs, imaging, prescriptions, and prior authorizations.
  • Document patient care in the electronic medical record and maintain exam rooms.

You will combine hands-on clinical care with patient communication, coordination, and follow-up to help create an efficient and welcoming experience. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys variety, building relationships with patients, and being part of a collaborative team serving the local community. **Schedule & Work Environment*** Full-time position, Monday-Friday, 7:00AM - 5:00PM.* Hours may vary based on provider and departmental needs.* No routine weekends, holidays, overnight shifts, or on-call requirements.* Fast-paced orthopedic specialty clinic supporting multiple providers and a high volume of patient interactions. **Primary Responsibilities*** Room patients and obtain vital signs, medications, medical history, and other clinical information.* Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers with treatments and procedures within scope of practice.* Administer medications and injections as directed and within scope.* Respond to patient messages and communicate provider instructions and follow-up information.* Coordinate referrals, laboratory work, imaging, prescriptions, prior authorizations, and follow-up care as assigned.* Provide patients with education and instructions as directed by the provider.* Accurately document patient care and communication in the electronic medical record.* Maintain examination rooms, equipment, and supplies and support efficient patient flow throughout the clinic. **Qualifications*** High school diploma or GED required.* Medical Assistant education or previous clinical experience preferred.* Medical Assistant certification preferred.* Current CPR/BLS certification required.* Previous primary care, ambulatory, or physician office experience preferred.* Strong communication, organization, and patient service skills. **Benefits*** Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits that include healthcare navigation assistance.* Access to a mental health benefit at no cost.* Employer provided life and disability insurance.* $5,250 Tuition Reimbursement per year.* Immediate 401(k) match.* 40 hours paid volunteer time off.* A culture committed to community engagement and social impact.* Up to 12 weeks parental leave at 100% pay and a financial benefit for adoption and surrogacy for non-physician team members once eligibility requirements are met.
