Job summary

Oak Street Health in New Orleans is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a patient-centered care team. You will greet patients, room them, assist providers, take vital signs, and support telephonic care under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• Ability to work collaboratively with care teams and RN supervision.

Responsibilities

• Room patients in a timely manner and support providers on schedule.
• Deliver an exceptional patient experience and help with visit prep.
• Obtain vital signs, chief complaints, and review medications.
• Deliver patient screenings per protocols.
• Order supplies and stock exam rooms.
• Perform routine quality control, infection control, and QA checks.
• Ensure exam rooms are clean, safe, and ready for visits.
• Provide telephonic support under RN or protocol direction.
• Assist with vaccinations and procedures as appropriate.
• Perform waived laboratory testing and schedule diagnostic testing.
• Assist with durable medical equipment as needed.
• Participate in care team meetings and other duties as assigned.
