Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Obtain blood specimens from outpatients via venipuncture, arterial puncture, or heel-stick.
• Prepare and log blood samples for off-site lab transport.
• Conduct patient/guarantor interviews and explain hospital policies and financial responsibilities.
• Arrange patient admission, receive and interview incoming patients, verify insurance data.
• Process admission paperwork and demographics accurately.
• Identify payor sources and route revenue properly.
• Ensure pre-certification/authorization meets payor requirements.
• Restock phlebotomy departmental supplies.
