Job summary

Patient First is hiring at our Chester, VA center for a clinical support role. You will locate patients, triage and obtain vital signs, and assist Nurses and Physicians with patient care.

Responsibilities include ordering labs, updating the EMR, and maintaining a clean treatment area. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year of clinical experience preferred, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Minimum typing experience
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a hospital or physician's office preferred
• Ability to hear pages, bells, and phone system
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods (4–7 hours)
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Attend scheduled CPR classes and code drills
• Prioritize multiple tasks
• Willingness to work at any center in emergencies

Responsibilities

• Locate patients and obtain vital signs
• Triage patients and prepare for exams by physicians and nurses
• Order labs, x-ray, and supplies electronically
• Notify nurse/physician when ready for exam and relay symptoms
• Assist nurses and physicians with patient care
• Sterilize and set up instruments
• Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas and equipment
• Use EMR system
• Attend staff meetings as scheduled
• Foster teamwork and provide warm, friendly service
• Understand and perform all duties as assigned
