Position: Medical Assistant

Position Summary
Provides assistance to physicians with patient-related procedures, patient history, and maintains smooth patient flow. Acts as a liaison between physicians, patients, and staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists providers with office procedures and patient care duties as per protocols.
• Manages patient flow, resolves issues or reports to Practice Manager.
• Performs basic Medical Assistant functions (e.g., injections, immunizations, tests).
• Documents patient histories, assists with medication reconciliation, and manages forms.
• Checks and corrects patient orders and referrals for accuracy.
• Handles specimen collection and processing.
• Obtains consents, documents procedures and instructions.
• Prepares examination rooms and maintains supplies.
• Ensures proper patient check-out and understanding of care plans.
• Maintains professionalism and adheres to safety and privacy guidelines.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Medical Assistant Diploma/Certificate from an accredited school.
• CMA Certification preferred.
• Maintain certifications through CME credits.
• High School diploma or GED.
• BLS certification and emergency procedures knowledge.
• Minimum one year experience in a medical setting.
• Phlebotomy certification required.
