Job summary

Health Solutions in Southern Colorado is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) to join our Family Medicine team at Perry Hall in Pueblo, CO. You will provide administrative support and direct patient care in an integrated primary care setting.

This role requires a medical assisting credential, strong teamwork with clinicians and behavioral health staff, and proficiency with electronic health records.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and associate degree or certificate from a medical assisting program.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
  • Experience working with a multidisciplinary team in primary care.

Responsibilities

  • Check patients in and out and maintain records with 100% accuracy.
  • Perform CLIA waived testing, venipuncture, vital signs, and EKGs.
  • Administer vaccines and injections (IM and SC) and patient education.
  • Assist in procedures and support integration with behavioral health teams.
  • Schedule tests, coordinate pre-authorizations with insurers, and maintain a safe clinic environment.

With over 400 employees in Southern Colorado, you would be joining a mighty team of support and administrative staff, clinicians, physicians, nurses, and others in our efforts to improve the health and wellbeing of our community.We’ve got a great opportunity for a Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant to join us at our new integrated family care clinic, Health Solutions Family Medicine at Perry Hall, located at 1591 Taos Rd. in Pueblo, CO.What You’ll Be DoingAs a CMA/RMA you would be providing administrative duties and direct care to patients in a clinic setting through an integrated team approach in Pueblo, and rural areas as needed.Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Director of Complex Care or designee, this position would provide support to the provider teams by assisting in all office-based functions within scope. This position would be based in Pueblo.Administrative DutiesCheck patients in and out.Keeps accurate, complete, and up-to-date records with 100% compliance with set standards.Maintains respect for privacy by adhering to confidentiality in all phases of work.Adheres to the spirit of the mission statement while performing assigned duties.Maintains competency and proficiency with the electronic health record.Clinical dutiesPerform CLIA Waived testing.Assists with medical and surgical procedures.Assists in patient education.Administers vaccine and medication injections, (IM and SC).Stocks supplies.Venipuncture and takes vital signs.Takes health history and obtain laboratory samples.Performs EKG, inhalation therapy and other in-house laboratory and physical tests as directed by medical staff.Maintains a safe and sanitary environment for patients and maintains exam rooms.Assist in maintenance, cleansing, and autoclaving of instruments, as needed.Provides medical services as ordered by the treatment team that are appropriate to the age-specific needs of all patients in accordance with the principles of growth and development for infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric life cycles.Witness’ and collect urine samples.Will be required to cross train in other duties as allowable by licensure.Performs other job-related duties as assigned by a supervisor/director.Integration and Team ParticipationSchedules x-rays and other medical testing, working with insurance companies as required for any pre-authorization needs.Works with other team members in the integration setting and follows universal precautions to protect self and patients.Be sensitive to cultural differences and able to work with patient from diverse racial, ethnic, educations and socio-economic backgrounds, sexual orientation, and gender identities.Create a positive and compassionate interaction with patients.Physical RequirementsRequires standing, sitting, driving, and walking for prolonged periods of time.Frequently operates a computer and other office equipment to record health data.Occasionally moves equipment and supplies as well as patients with mobility limitations.Frequently uses medical equipment such as venipuncture needles and blood pressure devices.Frequently exposed to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.Frequently exposed to stressful or emergent situations.Constantly communicates with patients.Occasionally drives between Health Solutions facilities or for other assigned duties.Requires occasional driving in adverse weather conditions.What You’ll Like About UsCompetitive pay $20.93 hourly depending on degree.Generous benefits package.
