Job summary

Valley Health System in Ohio is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform tasks under the supervision of a physician or advanced practice clinician (NP or PA), and to assess and educate patients.

Requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least one year of clinical experience; BLS certification is required before orientation. This is a per diem, non-exempt position within the Occupational Health department.

Under the supervision of the physician or advanced practice clinician (NP or PA), performs Medical Assistant specific tasks, and assesses and educates patients.

Education

High School Diploma or GED required

Experience

One year of experience in a clinical setting

Certification & Licensures

• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved
• New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills
• Competent to provide care to patients utilizing the nursing process
• Knowledge of the basic principles of human growth and development
• Competent to successfully interact with patients according to their special needs which may apply, based on age of the patient served
