Job summary

Valley Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in patient care and education. Under supervision, you will perform MA tasks, assess patients, and assist with education to improve outcomes.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of clinical experience or MA program completion, and BLS certification prior to orientation. Excellent communication and compassionate patient interaction are essential.

Job Description

Under the supervision of the physician or advanced practice clinician (NP or PA), performs Medical Assistant specific tasks, and assesses and educates patients.

Education

High School Diploma or GED required

Experience

One year of experience in a clinical setting or completion of a Medical Assistant certification program required

Training

Training in specialty-specific assisting desired

Certification & Licensure

BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required.

New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.

Qualifications

Must possess good communication skills.

Competent to provide care to patients utilizing the nursing process.

Knowledge of the basic principles of human growth and development.

Competent to successfully interact with patients according to their special needs which may apply, based on age of the patient served.
