Valley Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Family Practice team at Amherst Medical Center. This per diem position offers Monday–Friday hours, with occasional weekends not totaling more than 20 hours per week; exact schedule to be discussed at interview.

Responsibilities include patient prep (vitals/history), assisting with procedures and testing, and documentation in Athena EMR. Qualifications include completion of a MA/EMT/CNA program, CPR, and EMR experience; CMA/RMA

• Current CPR certification.
• EMR experience (Athena preferred).
• Experience working as a Medical Assistant, EMT, or CNA.

Valley Medical Group is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our Family Practice team and work in our Amherst Medical Center. If you are looking for a dynamic environment, this is your opportunity!

Position: Medical Assistant

Location: Amherst MA

Hours: Per Diem, typical hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm, with occasional weekends not totaling more than 20 hours per week. Hours may vary depending on department needs. Exact schedule to be discussed at time of interview.

Medical Assistants will work under the supervision of the Nurse Team Leader, and function as a member of the health care team in the delivery of high-quality service. MAs will assist in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for their visit by obtaining vitals, patient history, medication reconciliation and reviewing allergies
• Assist with procedures and point-of-care testing
• Ordering necessary tests required for the visit to ensure satisfaction of the QM Tab measures.
• Document encounters in the Electronic Medical Record (Athena)

Required Qualifications:

• Medical Assisting program certificate, EMT license, or CNA license
• Current CPR certification
• EMR experience (Athena preferred)
• Experience working as a Medical Assistant, EMT, or CNA

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• CMA or RMA certification strongly preferred
• Experience administering vaccines
