In this position, you will participate in providing patient care in the ambulatory setting, recognizing normal and abnormal signs and symptoms, and providing support during life-threatening emergencies. You will perform basic administrative, clerical, and technical supportive services as needed.

Salary Range

Range: $28.06 - $37.02 / Hourly

Qualifications

Required:

• A medical assistant diploma or certificate from an accredited medical assistant program (accredited by ASSCS, ACCET, CAAHEP, or ABHES).
• National certification for medical assistants issued by CMA, NCCT, or AMT.
• Completion of a medical assistant program with at least 10 hours of training in administering injections and skin tests, 10 hours in venipuncture, and 10 hours in administering medications by inhalation.
• Skill and knowledge to maintain current Medical Assistant Certification or diploma.
• Minimum of six months of experience as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting.
• Active CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Knowledge of instruments and supplies for physical examinations and procedures.
• Ability to take vital signs, perform injections, administer medications, and obtain drug refills.
• Knowledge of symptoms of common and life-threatening medical conditions and abnormal laboratory values.
• Proficiency with computerized patient care systems and Windows OS.
• Flexibility to travel within UCLA Health community practices and work variable schedules.

Highly Desired:

• Possession of Phlebotomy Certification.
