UCLA Health is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to provide essential patient care in an ambulatory setting. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or certificate, national certification, and experience in a healthcare setting. Responsibilities include recognizing medical signs, assisting during emergencies, and performing administrative tasks. This role requires flexibility to travel within community-based practices and work variable schedules.
In this position, you will participate in providing patient care in the ambulatory setting, recognizing normal and abnormal signs and symptoms, and providing support during life-threatening emergencies. You will perform basic administrative, clerical, and technical supportive services as needed.
Salary range : $28.06-$37.02 / Hourly
Required :
Skill and knowledge to maintain current Medical Assistant Certification or diploma
Minimum of six months of experience as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting
Active CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Knowledge of instruments and supplies for physical examinations and procedures
Ability to take vital signs, perform injections, administer medications, and obtain drug refills
Understanding of symptoms of common or life-threatening medical conditions and abnormal lab values
Proficiency with computerized patient care systems and Windows OS
Flexibility to travel within UCLA Health community-based practices and work variable schedules
