Description

In this position, you will participate in providing patient care in the ambulatory setting, recognizing normal and abnormal signs and symptoms, and providing support during life-threatening emergencies. You will perform basic administrative, clerical, and technical supportive services as needed.

Salary range: $28.06-$37.02/Hourly

Qualifications

Required:

• A medical assistant diploma or certificate as follows:

1. Documentation of completing a medical assistant program from an accredited school by ASSCS, ACCET, CAAHEP, or ABHES

OR

2. Documentation of national certification for medical assistants issued by CMA, NCCT, or AMT

OR

3. Documentation of completing a medical assistant program with at least 10 hours of training in administering injections, skin tests, venipuncture, and related procedures, including training in administering medications by inhalation.

• Skill and knowledge to maintain current Medical Assistant Certification or diploma
• Minimum of six months of experience as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting
• Possession of active CPR certification/BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Knowledge of instruments and supplies for physical examinations and procedures
• Ability to take vital signs, perform injections, administer medications, and obtain drug refills
• Knowledge of symptomatology of common and/or life-threatening medical problems and assessing abnormal laboratory values
• Proficiency with computerized patient care systems and Windows OS
• Flexibility to travel to multiple UCLA Health community-based practices and work variable schedules
