Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
  • Current CPR certification preferred - training available.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the pediatrician and nursing staff with patient preparation, examinations, and care coordination.
  • Obtain and document vital signs, patient histories, and other clinical information appropriate to pediatric patients.
  • Assist with pediatric screenings, immunizations, and other routine clinical procedures as directed and within scope of training.
  • Communicate effectively with pediatric patients and their parents/caregivers to support a positive patient experience.
  • Maintain clinical work areas, equipment, and supplies.
  • Support efficient patient flow and clinic operations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in compliance with HCC policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and compassion in all patient and staff interactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of clinic operations.

Job Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Basic clinical knowledge and skill level appropriate to education and training
  • Knowledge of age-appropriate patient care considerations, including infants, children, and adolescents
  • Ability to establish rapport with pediatric patients and communicate effectively with parents and caregivers
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional when working with children who may be anxious, fearful, or uncooperative
  • Ability to seek, accept, and utilize supervision appropriately
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to document accurately and appropriately
  • Basic computer skills
  • Working knowledge of insurance types
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Flexibility and reliability to support the needs of the clinical team
