Job summary

New York Health (NYH) seeks a Medical Assistant in Port Jefferson Station, NY. You will manage patient intakes, collect lab specimens, record vital signs, and prepare patients for examinations.

Responsibilities include sterilizing equipment, assisting providers, entering data, and performing EKGs/POCT. A Medical Assistant Certificate and a HS diploma are required; EMR proficiency and bilingual English/Spanish are preferred.

Qualifications

• A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma are required.
• Proficiency with an EMR system is preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient intakes and record information accurately.
• Collect and process lab specimens and venipuncture if needed.
• Record patients' vital signs and prepare them for examinations.
• Sterilize medical equipment and instruments.
• Assist providers and staff with data entry and visits.
• Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing.
• Support office procedures during visits.
• Additional duties as assigned.
