Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant in Skokie, IL. The role is a full-time position with hours Monday to Friday, rotating between 7:00AM-7:00PM and alternating weekend coverage as needed.

You will handle phones, scheduling, registrations, insurance verifications, and basic vitals; phlebotomy and injections may be required. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; Medical Assistant certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
• Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT, AAMA, ARMA, CCMA, CMA, MAC, AMCA) is preferred, but not required
• Experience: One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience

Responsibilities

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patient
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required
