Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant for Gynecologic Oncology at Evanston Hospital, Evanston, IL. This full-time role is 40 hours/week with a Monday–Friday schedule, no weekends or holidays. You will handle phones, appointments, registrations, payments, and provide front-office support.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR certification, and MA program preferred. On-the-job training available for those without prior MA experience.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical assisting program preferred.
• Certification: CPR via American Heart Association required; MA certification preferred.
• Experience: 1 year in a medical office preferred; on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones.
• Schedule appointments.
• Collect co-payments.
• Complete patient registration.
• Provide front office support.
• Check in/check out patients.
• Verify insurances.
• Greet patients and escort to exam room.
• Document vitals, allergies, medications, reason for visit.
• Perform basic vitals (BP, height, weight).
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required.

Hourly Pay Range

Hourly Pay Range: $19.89 - $28.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

Position: Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant - Gynecologic Oncology Location: Evanston Hospital - Evanston, IL Full Time | 40 hours/week Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am - 4:30pm/8:30am-5pm, no weekends or holidays. Schedule will be based on clinical needs.

What you will do:

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patient
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required

What you will need:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred.
• Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred.
• Experience: One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience.
