Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) seeks a Medical Assistant / Patient Service Specialist to join the clinical and administrative team. You will prep patients, take vitals, document history, and assist with visits in the ambulatory setting, while handling phone triage and scheduling tasks.

The role requires strong customer service, ability to work independently, and potential phlebotomy duties as ordered. Training and integration into BMCHS processes are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred Medical Assistant program from an approved school.
• Certified Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients and prepares the patient for the provider visit.
• Takes vital signs and records them in EMR.
• Record patient history and current medications in EMR.
• Obtain consents and complete forms for visits.
• Performs phlebotomy and point-of-care testing as required.
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments and maintains sterilization logs.
• Answer, triage, and route incoming calls.
• Schedule appointments and testing per directions.
