Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) Brockton is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Surgical Specialties team. Under supervision, you will support providers in ambulatory care, prepare patients for visits, and perform routine clinical duties in a busy practice.

The role emphasizes accurate vital signs, charting in EMR, specimen labeling, and assisting with procedures while ensuring patient flow and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an approved Medical Assistant program preferred.
• One to three years of medical assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patient and prepares the patient for the provider visit.
• Takes vital signs and records accurately in EMR.
• Records patient history and prescription list in EMR.
• Obtains required consents and completes forms for visits.
• Performs in-office testing and EKGs as needed.
• Assists provider with in-office medical procedures.
• Labels specimens per policy and chaperones providers as required.
• Administers vaccines and medications as ordered by provider.
