Job summary

PHMC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support direct patient services within a primary care setting. The MA will collaborate with clinical staff to ensure quality care, patient comfort, and smooth front desk operations while maintaining PHMC’s mission and compliance standards.

The role includes triage, injections and venipuncture, lab specimen collection, chart reviews, and interaction with patients across pediatric to geriatric populations. CPR certification and HIPAA adherence are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant School.
• Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Triage patients and take vital signs (BP, weight, height, pulse, temp).
• Administer injections, immunizations, and venipuncture per orders in the EHR.
• Collect lab specimens and perform related tasks.
• Handle front desk duties and patient registration.
• Schedule appointments and verify insurance.
• Assist providers and clinical staff as needed.
• Review charts for completeness and scan reports to the EHR.
