Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Health Science degree preferred.
• Medical Assistant certification or related license preferred.
• 0–1 year related experience required; MA competencies within one year.

Responsibilities

• Develops empathetic relationships with patients, families and colleagues.
• Facilitates timely patient flow and informs about delays during visits.
• Communicates hand-offs clearly to providers and teams.
• Performs medical assisting duties under supervision (vital signs, phlebotomy, immunizations).
• Leads conversations for population health goals and health coaching.
• Monitors equipment, maintains sterile supplies and PHI safeguards.
• Uses EHR to queue renewals and document visit tasks for billing.
• Schedules diagnostic/lab tests and handles insurance/pre-authorizations.
• Identifies OSHA issues and maintains patient safety and PHI compliance.
