Job summary

Oak Street Health is hiring Medical Assistants to collect medical information, support providers, and contribute to a high-quality patient experience. MAs work with care teams, perform screenings, obtain vital signs, and help with vaccinations and tests as needed.

The role emphasizes flexibility, accuracy, and strong communication to support clinicians and improve patient outcomes in a fast-paced center environment.

Qualifications

• State or national certification (as required by state), or graduation from an accredited medical assistant course
• 1 year experience as a medical assistant
• CPR or BLS Certification
• Electronic Medical Record experience
• Computer skills: Gmail, MS Word or Google Docs, Excel or Google Sheets
• US work authorization

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow, room patients promptly, take vital signs, complete screenings and medication reviews
• Inventory supplies and stock exam rooms
• Respond to patient requests for telephonic support
• Administer vaccinations and point-of-care tests per state regulations
• Import documents into EMR via scanning or PDF upload
• Participate in care team meetings and discuss patient care and clinic operations
• Process orders for durable medical equipment
• Request medical records from external providers as required
• Conduct routine quality control checks and assist in center lab maintenance
• Other duties as assigned
