Job summary

The Redding Rancheria Health Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the nursing team under the Nursing Supervisor and Director of Nursing. The position involves patient intake, vital signs, data entry, and coordinating with medical records to ensure smooth clinic flow.

Applicants should have MA certification or 2 years of related healthcare experience, CPR, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Indian preference applies; background checks and fingerprinting are required.

Qualifications

• Certification as Medical Assistant or 2 years related healthcare experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and medical law/ethics.
• CPR certification required.
• Fingerprinting and background check required; Indian preference.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial admission of patients to the Health Center, including intake and data entry.
• Verify check-in, perform rooming, obtain vital signs, review history and medications in EHR.
• Set up procedures and prepare lab specimens; assist with visits requiring exams or minor procedures.
• Data entry for quality measures; support patient flow and follow-up scheduling.
• Educate patients on medications, disease management and follow-up when needed.
