Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to gather essential patient information and support providers in clinical decision‑making. This role collaborates with care teams to ensure accurate data, smooth patient flow, and effective care delivery across the center.

Responsibilities include vitals, screenings, vaccinations, EMR documentation, and coordination with external providers. A CA or MA program completion with CPR/BLS and EMR experience is required.

Qualifications

• State or national certification or graduation from an accredited medical assistant course.
• 1 year experience as a medical assistant.
• CPR or BLS Certification.
• Electronic Medical Record experience.
• Computer skills: navigate Gmail, MS Word/Google Docs, Excel/Google Sheets.

Responsibilities

• Ensure an efficient patient flow; room patients in a timely manner, complete vital signs, complete screenings and medication reviews.
• Inventory supplies and stock exam rooms.
• Respond to patient requests for telephonic support (lab results, faxing records to specialists).
• Administer vaccinations and point of care tests as permitted by state regulations.
• Import required documents into EMR via scanning or PDF upload.
• Participate in care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operations.
• Process orders for durable medical equipment.
• Request medical records from external providers as required.
• Conduct routine quality control checks including infection control measures and center lab duties.
• Other duties as assigned.
