Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island in Hewlett, NY, invites you to join our team as a Medical Assistant. You will support physicians and nurses by completing assigned patient care tasks and ensuring safe, compassionate care for patients and families during hospitalization and procedures.

Key duties include assisting with patient flow, taking vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy as needed, preparing exam rooms, and assisting with procedures. Excellent communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant program or 2 years MA experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong customer service.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and nurses with patient care tasks.
• Maintain patient flow and escort patients between rooms.
• Obtain vital signs, weights, and EKGs; assist with phlebotomy and charting for physicians.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms; assist with light housekeeping and patient comfort.
• Assist with training of new Medical Assistants; perform administrative responsibilities as needed.
