Job summary

Blanchard Valley Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant to assist in minor office procedures, injections, phlebotomy, lab work and sterilization, along with clerical duties. You will room patients, take vitals, perform point-of-care tests, and coordinate with Providers to support patient care.

The role requires 12-hour shifts with weekend/holiday rotation, strong interpersonal skills, and proficiency in medical terminology.

Qualifications

Ability to work a 12 hour shift; weekend and holiday rotation is required.
Knowledge of office procedures and equipment.
Experience with throat cultures, hemocues, hemoccults, glucometer, urinalysis, urine pregnancy testing.
Typing and medical terminology experience required.
Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills required.
Knowledge of growth and development over the life span and ability to assess data relevant to age-specific patient needs.
Ability to interpret information to provide care per area policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Assist in minor office procedures, injections, phlebotomy, and lab procedures.
Sterilize instruments and perform clerical duties as directed.
Room patients, take vital signs, and perform laboratory testing within scope.
Collaborate with Providers regarding patient condition, orders, and treatment plans.
Maintain patient and Provider flow and ensure service excellence.
