Job summary

U.S. Dermatology Partners is seeking a Medical Assistant to support licensed providers in clinic and surgical settings. You will perform vital signs, patient prep, specimen collection, injections, and medication administration while maintaining sterile technique and compassionate patient care.

You will document medical histories, coordinate tests and referrals, and assist during exams and procedures under physician supervision. Strong organization and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• One year+ experience in a medical setting.
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of sterile technique, anatomy, and medications.
• Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable.
• Ability to follow verbal & written instructions with good grammar and spelling.
• Interpersonal skills to support customer service and teamwork.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for patients during exams and treatments.
• Interview patients to obtain medical information and vital signs.
• Escort patients to rooms and prepare them for physicians.
• Record medical history, medications, allergies, and test results.
• Obtain informed consent prior to treatments.
• Prepare and administer medications per physician instructions.
• Collect and prepare lab specimens for testing.
• Explain procedures, medications, diets, and wound care to patients.
• Assist physicians during examinations, injections, sutures, or other procedures.
• Authorize drug refills under provider direction and relay prescription information to pharmacies.
• Prepare treatment rooms and maintain sterile fields.
• Manage sterile supplies and maintain organized work areas.
• Assist in surgical procedures while maintaining sterile technique.
• Monitor patient condition and notify physician/RN of distress.
• Clean and replenish rooms and equipment; proper waste disposal.
• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate testing/admissions.
• Change wound dressings and greet patients.
