Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to follow verbal & written instructions with clear grammar and spelling.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Basic to intermediate math/analytical ability.
• Basic to intermediate computer operation; proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in patient exams, treatments, and procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterile fields for examinations and surgery.
• Record medical histories, medications, allergies and test results.
• Explain procedures, medications, diets, wound care, and physician instructions to patients.
• Administer injections and remove sutures as directed.
• Refill prescriptions under supervision and provide information to pharmacies.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage room turnover.
• Perform routine laboratory tests and collect specimens.
• Document all procedures timely in medical records.
• Respond to emergencies per facility policies and keep equipment ready.
