Job summary

Advocate Health’s Atrium Health Wake Forest region is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time, 40-hour workweek. The role involves rooming patients, vitals, chart reviews, immunizations, and coordinating with providers across a busy family medicine setting.

You’ll perform phlebotomy, assist with procedures, and support patient education while maintaining accurate records in EMR systems, with emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills within the Medical Assistant scope of practice after demonstrated competency.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to develop rapport and maintain positive professional relationships.
• Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, Windows, and email with exposure to EMR systems.
• Demonstrates customer service skills that support a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies and procedures.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, history taking, health maintenance, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, and POCT per orders.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely.
• Completes other duties such as refills, authorizations, scheduling, and referrals.
