Job summary

OSUP Community Medical Group, part of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care in our central Ohio clinics. You will room patients, record vitals, prepare for examinations, and assist clinicians according to established protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Diploma from a Medical Assistant Program or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year medical assisting experience.
• Military Medic training or EMT-P (Paramedic) training.
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and measure vital signs.
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments; assist as ordered.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms.
• Collect samples (blood, urine, sputum) and perform routine lab tests.
• Manage and organize the medical office inbox and communications.
• Oversee reception of incoming patient information and data collection.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Medical Assistant Program diploma

Minimum of 1 year medical assisting experience

Military Medic training

EMT-P (Paramedic) training

Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
