Job summary

OSUP Community Medical Group is hiring a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care and routine clinical procedures. You will assist physicians and nursing staff, room patients, collect specimens, and help manage the medical office workflow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with one of the following qualifications.
• Medical Assistant Program diploma OR
• Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience OR
• Military Medic training OR
• EMT-P (Paramedic) training OR
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure and record vital signs (height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration).
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures. Assists with procedures as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.
• Manage and organize the medical office's inbox, ensuring timely and accurate communication with patients, healthcare providers and other stakeholders.
• Oversee the reception of incoming patient information and gather necessary data for healthcare providers.

1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
