Job summary

Patient First in Pennsylvania is seeking a capable healthcare support aligned role to assist clinicians and care teams. The position emphasizes accurate vital signs capture, efficient triage, and preparation for physician exams, while maintaining a clean, stocked treatment area and using the EMR system.

Responsibilities include handling orders for labs and supplies, communicating patient needs, and supporting both Nurses and Physicians.

Qualifications

• Employee must be 18 years of age or older.
• Minimum typing experience.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• Ability to hear pages, bells, and phone system.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time (possibly 4-7 hours at a time).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to attend scheduled CPR classes and code drills.
• Ability to prioritize and deal with numerous tasks at one time.
• Willingness to work at any center due to a staffing or center emergency or reduction of work.

Responsibilities

• Locate patients, obtain vital signs, triage, and prepare patients for exams.
• Electronically order lab, x-ray, and medical supplies.
• Notify Nurse or Physician when patient is ready for exam and relay questions.
• Assist Nurses and Physicians with patient treatment and care.
• Handle requests with respect and in a timely manner.
• Sterilizing and setting up instruments.
• Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas and restock supplies.
• Understand and use the EMR system.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in maintenance tasks.
• Report to Charge Nurse before leaving at the end of the shift.
