Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group in Westerly, RI is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed provider. You will perform vitals, record health information, assist with patient education and telehealth support, while ensuring accurate documentation.

The role includes administrative duties, front-desk coverage, and potential float to other offices as needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR CT CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification OR relevant experience.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association within 3 months of hire date.
• All required credentials maintained throughout employment.
• In lieu of education, at least one year of direct patient care experience may be considered.
• MA externship or relevant experience in a busy medical office; EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under provider direction, including vitals, allergies/med reconciliation, screenings, patient history, health maintenance, advance directives and virtual health.
• Performs manual blood pressure and EKGs.
• Provides indirect patient care including scheduling, check-in/out, referrals, chart prep and prior authorizations; conducts point-of-care testing with quality control and documentation.
• Performs administrative duties and covers front desk based on business needs.
• Floats to other offices based on business needs.
