Job summary

Northwest Physicians Group in Amarillo, TX, is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform a broad range of patient care duties under physician supervision. You will interview patients, measure vitals, perform venipuncture, and assist in exams, with documentation in EMR and occasional front-desk support.

Qualifications include a Medical Assistant certificate, high school diploma, and current BLS; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. This role supports care within the UHS-affiliated network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certificate required or must obtain certification within six months of employment.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire or within 30 days of start date and maintain certification.
• Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion and/or one year experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Familiarity with medical terminology required.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and measure vital signs (pulse, temperature, BP, weight, height).
• Perform venipuncture and procedures as directed by the physician.
• Document in the Electronic Medical Record per IPM guidelines.
• Prepare treatment rooms for examination and assist in covering the front desk as needed.
