Job summary

Northwest Physicians Group in Amarillo, Texas seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians in examination and treatment, interview patients, measure vital signs, and perform venipuncture within scope of practice. Documentation is entered into the Electronic Medical Record per IPM guidelines.

You will help prepare treatment rooms, assist in covering the front desk as needed, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a busy outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certificate or must obtain certification within six months.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association on hire or within 30 days.
• Medical terminology understood; experience with patient check-in/out.
• Proficiency with basic computer programs; Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care duties under physician supervision; interview patients.
• Measure vital signs: pulse, temperature, BP, weight, height; venipuncture as directed.
• Document in Electronic Medical Record per IPM guidelines.
• Prepare treatment rooms for examinations; assist with front desk coverage as needed.
