Job summary

Tenet Physician Resources in Nacogdoches, TX seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant to support physicians in a busy office. You will provide direct patient care, perform vital signs, assist with procedures, and maintain accurate charting per policy.

Qualifying candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, Medical Assisting training, BLS, and relevant healthcare experience or equivalent. Travel to local clinics may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Three years of healthcare experience in lieu of a diploma or certification.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and privacy standards.
• Assist in assessing patient needs, take vital signs, history and chief complaint.
• Document in patient records per charting policy and assist with procedures.
• Administer prescribed medications and injections as directed.
• Maintain clean, safe environment and stock exam room supplies.
• Coordinate referrals and pre-certifications with insurance as needed.
• Answer office phones and assist front desk with scheduling.
